The Hi-Tech Lamps part number AL5060 is a 50 watt (50W) Ushio Solarc metal halide lamp with elliptical reflector. Although designed and previously manufactured by Welch-Allyn, these lamps are now made by Ushio America. It has an average life of 2500 hours. The correlated color temperature is 5700 Kelvin (5700K) with chromiticity coordinates of 0.33, 0.37(CIX,CIY). The luminous flux through a 10mm aperture is 2500 lumens, while through a 6 mm aperture it provides 2000 lumens. This lamp requires an Ushio B50R004R regulated ballast. The ballast requires an input voltage of 12 to 15 VDC with a steady state current draw of 5.6 amps at 12VDC. The warm-up time to 90% output is 40 seconds and the restart time is 60 seconds. The numerical aperture (NA) is 0.69 and the spot size at the focal plane F2 is 6 mm @ 50% intensity. The F2 focal distance from the rim is 18.6 mm. This lamp is also known as Ushio AL-5060.
