Description
The part number NK78 is a 5 watt Heraeus Noblelight high stability low pressure mercury lamp which emits a single monochromatic line at 253.7 nm. Heraeus NK low pressure mercury lamps are stabilized by the geometric form of the discharge tube and by a cover bulb which reduces influences of ambient fluctuations. The standard NK lamp bulbs are formed with ozone free quartz material that absorbs the 185 nm line produced in the low pressure gas discharge and so will not produce any ozone. The lamp bulb can be manufactured of synthetic quartz glass on request, allowing the emission of the mercury line at 185 nm and production of ozone from the ambient oxygen. This lamp has a 75 mm arc gap and a base. It is also known as NK 7/8, NK7/8 and 80001987. The guaranteed operating life is 2000 hours with a reduction of the output of a maximum of 50%. A normal useful operating life can be between 4000 and 6000 hours. The lamp should be operated at ambient temperatures. The typical initial UV output is 700 mW.
